Conference Venue
The meeting will take place in the Congress Center of FIL (Feira Internacional de Lisboa), where the EXPO’98 (1998 Lisbon World Exposition) took place. FIL facilities are located at Parque das Nações since the end of Expo ’98. During Expo ’98, the facilities were used for the event. However, the construction project, conceived by the architects A. Barreiros Ferreira and A. França Dória, was elaborated deliberately as FIL’s new facilities. On the 13th March 1999, Nauticampo officially inaugurated FIL’s new exhibition fairground.
The International Fair of Lisbon’s Exhibition Fairground is currently hosting around 40 events per year. FIL’s activities include organisation of fairs, rental of space for initiatives belonging to third parties and a wide variety of services related to fair and exhibition activities. With annual, biannual and biennial periodicity, the fairs may be related to various sectors of economic activity such as tourism, furniture, food, hotel industry, decoration, construction, handicraft, art, among many others. The multiplicity of fairs (multi-exhibition, sectorial or multi-product) is further divided into fairs for professionals, public or both.
FIL is a privileged place in Lisbon, with quick underground connections to the Lisbon airport and downtown. Hotels, restaurants, pubs, esplanades, riverfront, art, oceanarium, casino, and so forth, are all within walking distance.
