This year, for the first time, ICGI is connecting with the Reboot Fest, a new media and digital art festival and doctoral simposium that will also take place in Porto, from November 5th to 9th and that we believe to be a good fit for the interests of ICGI participants.
Reboot Fest
Reboot is an invitation to imagination, criticism, fresh scientific production, and formal transdisciplinary artistic interventions, organized by the Digital Media Doctoral Program (DMDP).
It is the result of a collaboration of more than 10 years between the University of Porto and the NOVA University of Lisbon (UNL), through the faculties of Engineering, Fine Arts, Sciences, Economics and Humanities of the University of Porto (FEUP, FBAUP, FCUP, FEP and FLUP), NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities (UNL FCSH), and NOVA School of Science and Technology (UNL FCT).
Doctoral Simposium
This festival integrates a Doctoral Symposium, which we consider as an opportunity for Ph.D. students (from DMDP or other doctoral programs) to present and discuss their ongoing Ph.D. research work (e.g., research goals, preliminary ideas, research plan, initial/intermediate results), with experts in the field and peers. Students will receive feedback on the quality of their presentation and on the proposed research itself. For more information regarding submissions, please visit the call for abstracts.
