2025 edition of the International Conference on Graphics and Interaction (ICGI 2025) in Sintra
The 2025 edition of the International Conference on Graphics and Interaction (ICGI 2025) https://gpcg.pt/icgi2025/, held at the Olga Cadaval Cultural Centre in Sintra on November 13–14, was the thirty-first edition of this scientific event, organised by Iscte and the Eurographics Portuguese Chapter (GPCG).
This year’s conference took place in the charming town of Sintra, through a joint organisation by GPCG, Iscte Sintra, ISTAR_Iscte, and the Business Research Unit. The Organising Committee, chaired by Professor Miguel Sales Dias, included the collaboration of researcher Tomás Alves, PhD student Micaela Raposo, and Cláudia Andrade, all from Iscte.
The conference gathered around 60 international researchers and academics working in Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Human–Computer Interaction, and Immersive Environments. It offered an opportunity to present completed or ongoing research in these areas, as well as to exchange experiences among academic communities at the European level.
Throughout the event, six paper sessions were held, covering topics such as Cognitive Effects and Human Perception, Immersive Environments, Tools, Computer Graphics Modelling, Interaction in Extended Reality, Interface Design, and Applications of Extended Reality.
The keynote talks were delivered by Daniel Gonçalves, Full Professor at Técnico, University of Lisbon, under the title “Presenting with Impact: How to Engage, Inform and Inspire,” and by Corina Sas, Professor at Lancaster University, UK, on the theme “Reflecting on the Value of Food for Human–Food Interaction Research.” Both presentations offered inspiring perspectives and served as a starting point for further scientific discussions.
The program also included a poster session and a social event, concluding the conference with a visit to the National Palace of Sintra.
